“Getting PR through Social Media”Fingal Business Turns Out for Social Media Masterclass
“Be Yourself” was one of the top tips for Fingal-based business owners at the recent “Getting PR Through Social Media” networking event, organised by Fingal County Enterprise Board (7th February 2012).
Held in The Clarion Hotel, Dublin Airport, this Fingal Business Network event attracted over 200 local business owners who learned how to get the most from their social media marketing tools.
Eoin Kennedy, chair of the Irish Internet Association Social Media Working Group, began the evening by presenting his Top Twelve Tips to achieving PR through social media. Tips included making news instant through photographs and video, keeping in touch with media on Twitter and being creative in the use of social media tools. His advice on building relationships with bloggers generated much interest amongst the audience, particularly in the post event Questions and Answers session.
Following an enlightening practical demonstration of how social media can support networking, businesses were invited to put this into practice at a networking session followed by refreshments.
The Fingal Business Network (FBN) is open to owners and managers of small businesses located within Fingal. It is particularly geared at providing a networking platform for those who have recently set up in business.
