A DECADE SUPPORTING WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Fingal County Enterprise Board’s Women in Business Network reached an impressive milestone in October, as it celebrated ten years of supporting local women in business.

Marking this important anniversary and helping to highlight the success stories of female entrepreneurs in the region, the Fingal County Enterprise Board organised  a celebratory lunch for members and guests on Friday, October 16th at Roganstown Hotel and Country Club in Swords.

Guests were greeted to the sounds of Aisling Ennis on the Harp and enjoyed a champagne and wine reception before sitting down to a sumptuous four course lunch served by the award winning team at Roganstown.

A special video celebrating the network and it's membership was premiered at the event.

The very esteemed guest speaker on the day was Terry Prone, PR and Communications expert.  Terry spoke about her life as a woman in business, her challenges and her philosophy to work and work life balance.

According to Network Manager, Eve Bulman, the network has played a key role in enterprise support over the last ten years: “Since it was established back in 1999, the Fingal Women in Business Network has supported, encouraged and assisted over 500 female entrepreneurs, from all over Fingal. Through hosting monthly networking sessions, workshops and seminars, the network aims to support all female entrepreneurs, at every stage in their business venture. Our members include sole traders, managing directors, consultants and those planning to start a business for the first time.”

Speaking after the celebratory lunch, Oisin Geoghegan, CEO of the Fingal County Enterprise Board said: “The Fingal Women in Business Network has been extremely effective in helping to encourage and support Fingal’s entrepreneurs and I’d like to pay special tribute to the achievements of members over the years. Alongside our other supports, which include training programmes, mentoring sessions and financial assistance, we have seen a huge increase in demand for enterprise supports across all our business networks this year.”
